Ugandan Thunder Press Release
Ugandan Thunder, a group of eight young boys from Uganda, East Africa, will be appearing at First Baptist Church Lovejoy on Wednesday, June 10th, 2009 at 7 PM. "Thunder" will sing some of your favorite hymns, African and American style, plus they will present music in their native Lugandan tongue. It will be a wonderful, high energy concert full of singing and dancing, along with some great percussion music from the African drums.
In addition to the musical presentations, the boys will also share about growing up in a land that has been ravaged by a twenty-year war, poverty, AIDS and malaria. You will see how their faith in God has changed their hopeless lives into lives with great meaning and purpose. Some of the boys are orphans. As they share with the American youth about loving and honoring their parents, your entire family will be blessed.
The group "Ugandan Thunder" is sponsored by "Pennies for Posho", a non-profit Christian organization that is committed to feeding the hungry children of Africa. All funds raised from the concert tour will be used for this express purpose.
It will be a worship service like no other, and one you will not want to miss. For reserved seating for your group, please call 770-478-8795.

David Akin featured in Christian Index
David Akin, son of FBC Lovejoy's Kelly and Helen Akin, is featured in the June 19 issue of the Georgia Baptist Newspaper, The Christian Index. David and his family are celebrating 20 years of full-time ministry.
"The goal of the Akin Ministry is to bring all generations together by providing a variety of music that reaches all ages. Trying to reach the whole family musically today is a challenge. We are constantly searching for music that will reach our younger generation, but will also be appealing to our older generation."David Akin
